News Releases

December 7, 2024 Eastern Conn. Rally Falls Short in LEC BOSTON – The Eastern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team cut a 13-point deficit to three points three times in the second half but could get no closer as the Warriors were beaten away from home for the first time in seven games this year, 77-70 by the University of Massachusetts Boston Saturday afternoon at the Clark Athletic Center.
December 4, 2024 Eastern Connecticut Drops First of Season WILLIMANTIC, Conn. –The friendly confines of Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium Wednesday night did not treat the Eastern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team kindly in its home and Little East Conference openers Wednesday evening. The University of Southern Maine may have had something to do with that.
November 26, 2024 Eastern Connecticut Still Unbeaten (6-0) NEW LONDON, Conn. – With four starters returning this year, most observers felt that the Eastern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team would have little trouble equalling (or exceeding) last year’s total of six wins. Few, however, felt that this would be achieved less than three weeks into the season.
February 23, 2023 Eastern Closes Successful Second-Half Run in Little East Semis KEENE, N.H. – Competing in the Little East Conference men’s basketball tournament semifinals for the 13th consecutive time, fourth-seeded Eastern Connecticut State University trailed only once in the first 15 minutes of the game but 55.6 percent shooting from the floor in the second half was not enough to carry the Warriors in an 83-61 loss to top-seeded Keene State College Thursday evening at Spaulding Gymnasium.
February 21, 2023 Eastern Connecticut Catches Beacons in LEC Tourney WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – The Eastern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team reeled off ten straight points to close a 12-point deficit in the second half and senior guard Jalen Williams (Simsbury) sank both ends of a one-and-one opportunity with 58.5 seconds left to give the Warriors their first lead of the second half as the fourth-seeded Warriors advanced to the semifinal round of the Little East Conference tournament with a 62-58 victory over fifth-seeded University of Massachusetts Boston Tuesday evening at Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium.
February 15, 2023 Eastern Connecticut Caps Late-Season Rush With Win DANBURY, Conn. – First-year guard Dominick Dao’s (Terryville) three-point field goal eight minutes into the game shot the Eastern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team into the lead for good and the surging Warriors emerged from a foul-plagued game with an 81-75 Little East Conference victory over Western Connecticut State University Wednesday night at Feldman Arena that assured the Warriors of a first-round LEC tournament home game.
